Clarins/Pretty Day & Pretty Night Autumn 2015 Make Up Collection

I've been holding off on this post, not because these products aren't worthy of a review*, quite the opposite in fact, I just didn't want to accept it's now time to switch our make up to autumnal hues, although after reviewing these beauties I'm actually annoyed I didn't start using them sooner.

So whats the concept behind this years collection from Clarins?

As always Clarins really have gone all out to bring you a collection that can take you from day to night, in just a few products, focusing mostly on the eyes, and designing a capsule collection to take you from office to dinner in just a few luxurious products.
The stars in this collection are the Pretty Day & Pretty Night eye shadow palettes, whilst I haven't been reviewing them I can confirm both are very pretty indeed, the day one gives you all you need to create a soft, warm sophisticated look combining pinks, beige, and some browns.

The Night palette will give you those more sultry darker tones perfect for creating my fave shadow look, the smokey eye!

There have been two new Ombre Matte shadows added, I adore these shadows and what I love the most is that actually your getting two in one in each pot as they can be used dry, but dip your brush into a little water and watch the results intensify, super pigmented and satin soft these are both must haves for the autumn ahead.

The left is the gorgeous Heather and the far left swatch is the dry shadow, the right the wet.
The right hand shot shows the lovely Carbon shadow, I'm already addicted to this it's super blendable and look at the intensity when applied wet too, this would be perfect for lining the eyes.

No look is complete without a good lipcolour right?
For me I don't feel 'finished' until I've applied something on my lips, I am loving both of these shades, new additions to the Rouge Eclat range so your still getting the super moisturizing formula you know and love.

Say hello to Red Paprika & Tawny Rose, gorgeous. I think both shades are really wearable no matter your skin tone, and I'd never have gone for the Red Paprika but actually I adore it.
To complete this collection there are two brow pencils and two kohl liners, all available now over on the Clarins Website and at counters nationwide.

Although I hate the cold seasons I am very much looking forward to embracing these warm tones.

Which pieces will you be treating yourself to?

Maybelline/Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner

It takes a lot to impress me when it comes to liners, the truth is I'm not overly confident when applying it so it has to be easy or I'm not likely to give it a second glance.

I picked this up in Boots recently as it was on offer and I've been using it on nights out since, putting it through it's paces and testing it's staying power. For under £10 the fact it includes a double ended applicator is seriously good value for money to start with, let alone the fact the product is actually pretty good.

The liner is a gel formula making it really easy to apply, it glides and doesn't tug on the delicate eye lid area, I also used mine under my eyes to add some definition. I used the brush end of the applicator as I wanted a really defined effect and it looked great as a base for the strip lashes.

It's smudge proof and Maybelline claim it would last 24 hours, although why you'd ever wear it for that long I'm not sure, I wore mine for 10 hours and it didn't budge or flake.

It comes in a little glass pot with a screw lid so no need to worry about spillages in your make up bag.

Head over to the Boots Website where you can pick up 2 for £10, they usually retail at £7.99 each so that really is a good deal.

L'Oreal/Extraordinary Facial Cleansing Oil

It's often talked about in the beauty world that adding oil to your skin can help balance the oil in your problem area's although I'm always sceptical I have to say I'm hooked on this stuff.
I've been using this for the past two weeks in conjunction with my beloved Dermalogica routine and my skin hasn't felt this clear in a long long time.

L'Oreal Facial Cleansing Oil is just one of the oil packed products from their Extraordinary Oil range, it promises to reveal nourished healthy & radiant skin. It dissolves make up, even waterproof mascara and leaves skin feeling silky smooth.

So where does this fit into your routine?
Simply dispense 2-3 pumps into your hand and rub over your days make up, dry. Then hit the shower and use your regular cleanser to remove it. I have swiped over my face after with a cotton pad and I can promise you it really does get rid of every last trace of make up.

It smells divine and gives you a real spa facial feeling, and you wont believe it's under £8, although currently on offer at just £5.29 in store and on line at Superdrug the bottle will last you ages as you need such a little amount at a time.

I could be tempted to add more of these products into my routine, watch this space!

Peaches & Cream/My Makeover Experience & My Peaches Inspired Nails

You all know of my love for make up, it's the whole reason I started my blog 4 years ago.

My addiction had a hair and beauty overdose last week at my long awaited appointment at the infamous Peaches & Cream in Liverpool, thanks to my Fiance for the treat.

Founded by two best friends Kate & Nic back in 2005 Peaches has really put Liverpool on the map when it comes to the greatest make up creations you could think of, the hair up's and downs are phenomenal too.

If you follow Peaches & Cream on Instagram you'll often see shots of the very bright, fun and funky shop, I was surprised to see it was actually much bigger inside than I was expecting, the decor is fantastic, not to mention the logo printed wallpaper in the hair area downstairs.
I always remember the first time I spotted the Peaches rainbow eye creation on their Facebook page and I was in love from then, 5 years on they have over 154,000 Instagram followers not to mention a huge fan base on Facebook and Twitter and that's not just limited to here in the UK they have people travel from all over the world to get peached and I have to say I'm still on cloud nine after my appointment.

The gorgeous Casey wanded my hair and created a chunky braid across one side, I couldn't believe how quickly she transformed my hair from drab to fab, I felt beautiful once it was complete and as I headed upstairs without a scrap of make up on I was excited for phase two of my peachy make over.
Peaches & Cream only use the very best in products, Estee Lauder, Nars, MAC, Smashbox, Urban Decay, NYX, La Girl to name but a few.

I had been browsing the extensive gallery of glittery, pigmenty, lovely lash creations the Peaches had come up with, the choice was just endless so when I headed in I decided to let the lovely Kre have free reign on my make up simply telling her I couldn't decide between pigments and glitter.

The Peaches 'Whipped Cream' make up costs just £38 and that includes a set of Peaches lashes, Loads of you have been asking which lashes they used on me, these are in fact Peaches very own lashes.

I opted for the number two lashes, I know these are one of the best sellers along with the number 7 ones, and you can choose from lots of different styles as part of your Peaches make over.
Being such a huge fan of Peaches I asked my amazing nail artist to help me come up with some ideas to theme my nails to the salon, we brainstormed for a good week or two before hand and neither of us had any idea exactly how they'd look at the end. We knew we needed to incorporate glitter to represent the glitter used in the make up's, along with lashes, the packaging and the logo.

This is what we came up with, I personally have to say a huge thank you to Kelly for all the time and effort she put into getting these right, they are all hand painted.
Make sure you follow Kelly on Instagram: here, Tweet her @kmshents and keep up to date by liking her page on Facebook
These shots explain the design behind each nail.....
I also got the pleasure of meeting Kate, one of the owners of Peaches, what a lovely lady.
This has to be hands down one of the bubbliest and friendliest salons I've ever been in, the Peaches will make you feel totally at ease so you have nothing to be nervous about.
You can also book in if you need special occasion or theatrical make up, you should see what these ladies whip up at Halloween & Christmas! Not to mention some of the themed make overs you'll see on their social media. The talent at Peaches is incredible, they have a real passion and strive to ensure we all leave feeling fabulous and happy. They really strive to give us all a confidence boost and to feel a million dollars, what's not to love about that?!

They stock their own pigments, lashes and make up brushes and are the ONLY retailer here in the UK for the gorgeous Lit Glitters, I've featured these on my blog before and the effects they create are just fantastic.

Be sure to treat yourself to some goodies before leaving the shop after your make over, this is what I picked up... keep an eye out for some Peaches Inspired posts coming soon.

If you fancy learning some new techniques or the latest & most up to date trends in hair and make up then look no further, Peaches even run hair and make up masterclasses where they'll take you through a technique step by step and help you perfect it on yourself. Not just aimed at young women either, they even teach the more mature ladies how to tweak their make up to look fab no matter how old you are.

Your in the best hands in Liverpool for the very best in hair and make up.
It was a fantastic experience all round. I'll be heading back to be Peached again in October for my 30th Birthday, you can definitely expect another review from me.

I felt like a celebrity once my make over was finished, honestly the prettiest I've ever felt.

Thank you so much Peaches, it was a pleasure to meet you all.

With Love From Liverpool/What I Wore

I love any excuse to get glam, going out and about in Liverpool I needed no excuses to get dressed up and head out.

Lots of you have been asking about my outfits so thought I'd put together a post with links to where you can pick up the exact items or similar to recreate my looks.

The left hand picture I'm wearing a gorgeous slinky black dress by Pretty Little Thing, these dresses retail at just £20 and are so comfy, you can also wear it back to front too so your getting two dresses for the price of one! They come in loads of shades too, so what ever the occasion take a look at the link below.

I popped a little cami vest under mine as it's quite a revealing number without and as we were heading out for dinner I didn't feel it was appropriate to have too much on show.

I felt really glam in the dress and considering I'm only 5ft2 it wasn't too long.

The heels are also from Pretty Little Thing they were really popular due to being a replica of Kim K's much more expensive version, these retail at around £15 and come in loads of different colours.

The right hand picture was an outfit more casual as we were heading into some pubs in Liverpool City Centre so didn't require me to be too dressed up. I added my camel coloured waterfall cape and my quilted clutch bag to complete the look.

The top is a lovely cotton stretch long sleeve top with lace panel detailing from River Island, it's on sale in stores now retailing at just £22.

The jeans are my trusty New Look petite ripped knee jeans, super comfy and go with anything, dressed up or down, I always go back to these and I have them in plain denim and white too. Inexpensive at £24 a pair too. A wardrobe staple for all of you!

The wedges are also new look, these are a total bargain at £19 I bought them in tan, white and black, super comfy and the strap detailing is dressy so adds a little bit of interest to any outfit.

A very black theme in general for the weekend, you can never go wrong with black, a classic choice whatever the occasion.

xoxo
